Corrosion Protection and Preservation

The annual global cost of corrosion is $2.5 trillion, equivalent to roughly 3.4% of the world's gross domestic product, according to a study by NACE International. Implementing corrosion prevention best practices could result in global savings of 15-35% of that cost, or $375-$875 billion.

We suggest the optimal corrosion prevention measures for your equipment and cargo in transit and during storage. Some of the key factors that we consider are:

  • Duration of transit/storage
  • Climatic conditions (temperature, humidity) in transit and during storage
  • Nature of the cargo
  • Exposure to sea salt and moisture
  • Number of handling and repacking operations

There are multiple corrosion protection products in the market. We are brand agnostic and will assist our client in selecting the correct product as per their target of corrosion protection. We do not believe in one-size-fits-all approach. We differentiate ourselves by providing superior service and helping client achieve their goal.

Some of the common products and processes that we deploy for corrosion protection are:

  • Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI)
  • Hermetically Sealed Aluminium Foil packing
  • Desiccants
  • Anti-Rust Coatings and Oils
  • Blasting and Painting

For specialized blasting and painting activities we work with independent NACE professionals

If you have already rusted items, we can also help you in rust removal.

Long Term Preservation

Certain projects require preserving their cargo for long term (over 2 years). In such cases we use specialized material to facilitate long term preservation. We use humidity indicators and data loggers to monitor the cargo. Another requirement is the storage of important artwork and important historical artefacts.

Some of the long term asset preservation projects executed by us include:

  • Onsite preservation of equipment at Rawatbhata Nuclear Power Plant
  • Onsite preservation of equipment at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station
  • Wind Mill Mould Preservation
  • Hydro Power Plant equipment for North Eastern India
  • Equipment for Navy
  • Thermal Power Plant Equipment
  • Refinery Equipment

Certain equipment need to be unpacked and repacked after a couple of years. With our global INPRO network we can execute unpacking and repacking in over 18 countries.
